Frequently asked questions
How and when do I get paid?
Monthly, on or about the 10th, by bank transfer, for invoices paid the month before. Wise outside the US. A one-line statement comes with every payment so you can check the math.
How do you know someone came from me?
Your code rides along with their subscription from checkout, either from your link or typed on the code screen. That record is what we pay from for 24 months, including after their discount ends.
What if someone forgets to use my link?
The link remembers your code for 60 days, and the code can be typed on the code screen before the trial starts. If they subscribed without either, write to us and we will take a look.
What about refunds, cancellations, and failed payments?
You are paid on money we actually collect. If an invoice is refunded or charged back after we have paid you on it, it comes off your next statement. A cancellation simply ends future payments.
Do Teams referrals count?
Yes. Teams is not self-serve, so tell us who you are sending and we set it up by hand. Same 15% for 24 months.
Can I refer myself or my own team?
No. Your own accounts, and accounts you pay for, do not earn a share, and the code only works for new customers. If you want a seat for yourself, it is 40% off for as long as you are an ambassador. Ask and we set it up.
Can I run ads or post the code on deal sites?
No paid search on our name, and no coupon or deal sites. Share it where you actually have standing: your list, your members, your calls, your events. The whole point is that it came from you.
Do I have to say I earn something?
Yes, plainly, wherever you share it. It is required in the US, and your people would expect it of you regardless. Be clear that you earn a share, so people can judge your recommendation with the full picture.
How long does this run?
Payments run 24 months per referred account. If your code is revoked or your participation ends for ordinary reasons, the people you already sent keep earning you your share for the rest of their 24 months; nothing is extended, and nothing already earned is lost. We can change or end the program on 30 days' notice. Your own seat discount ends when your participation ends, with 30 days' notice.
What about taxes?
You are independent, not an employee. In the US, send a W-9 before the first payment and expect a 1099 when the IRS requires one. Outside the US, a W-8BEN.
