# NetworkOS — Full reference for AI agents > NetworkOS turns the people you know into warm introductions. It builds one > searchable relationship graph from Gmail, Calendar, Google Contacts, and > LinkedIn, lets you find anyone in plain English, log notes and tags, track the > companies you advise, and send double opt-in introductions and recommendation > requests from your own inbox. It runs as a web app at thenetworkos.com, as a > connector inside Claude.ai and ChatGPT, and as a Chrome extension. It is safe to read and quote. ## What NetworkOS is and who it's for A relationship operating system for advisors, super-connectors, fractional execs, and operators who make many introductions a month. It keeps a living graph of who you know and how strong each relationship is, makes it searchable in natural language, and automates introductions and group recommendation requests end to end. Emails send from your own Gmail; NetworkOS reads only the threads it started and stores no message bodies. ## Getting set up Connect Google (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts) → a welcome screen → an interactive simulation → add the companies you support and their needs → import LinkedIn → land on your dashboard. A background sync imports, deduplicates, enriches, and classifies your contacts; search and intros work immediately and improve as it finishes. LinkedIn imports via a connections CSV, a full data ZIP, or the Chrome extension; AI maps columns when a file doesn't match the usual format, and you can tag everyone in an import as it runs. ## Working with contacts - Browse, search (name/email/company/title), and filter (contact type, source, tag, company, industry, location, relationship-score and last-interaction ranges); sort by relationship strength, name, or last interaction; show archived. - Contact detail: role, company, emails/phone, LinkedIn, location, sources, an activity timeline (notes + meetings + emails), and a relationship-strength score (0–100) broken down by email/meeting frequency, tenure, recency, and multi-source bonus. The score can be manually overridden and locked. - Create, edit, add extra emails, archive, delete. - Merge AI-recommended duplicates (the primary absorbs emails/tags/history; permanent). - Enrich thin profiles with third-party data. - Bulk actions: tag/untag/archive across selected contacts. Tags have a name, color, and optional description; apply/remove on a contact or in bulk; filter the list by tag. Manage all tags in Settings. See linked company contacts and their roles, a relationship snapshot, an AI relationship analysis, and attached documents (upload/download/delete). Needs feed introductions and intro opportunities. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/companies ## Tasks & follow-ups Create tasks by typing, by voice, via an inline add row, or in plain English (e.g. "Call Sarah about the Series A by Friday, high priority" — title, due date, and priority are parsed out). Link tasks to contacts and companies. Filter by status (active/completed/archived), sort by due date/created/priority; overdue tasks are highlighted; complete, archive, edit, delete. Examples: "VCs based in Seattle", "fintech founders I've emailed this year", "engineers who left Google for startups". Results are ranked with a short reason per match, the traits that matched, and the contact's sources; recent searches are saved; select multiple results to start introductions. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/searching-your-network ## The chat assistant A conversational assistant that both answers and acts: find people, pull up a company or intro path, add notes, create tags, trigger a sync, and run the multi-step introduction flow (with a contact picker when several match). Voice input and saved history. Anything that sends email or changes data is confirmed first. The same capabilities power the Claude connector and the Chrome extension. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/chat-assistant ## Making introductions Pick two people → set the purpose (hiring/sales/fundraising/partnership/general) → choose a consent model → review AI-drafted emails (edit/regenerate) → send from your Gmail → track. Consent models: double opt-in (ask both first), network-first, client-first, and direct intro. NetworkOS detects replies (with sentiment), sends timed follow-ups, and records outcomes. Four steps: describe what you need (category e.g. consultant, service provider, recruiter, vendor, restaurant, general) and refine it → pick who to ask (AI-ranked by expertise + relationship) → review personalized per-recipient emails → confirm and send (now or scheduled). NetworkOS reads replies, extracts the recommendations, and maintains a single synthesized summary; sends reminders; winds down on expiry; and lets you duplicate a finished request. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/recommendations ## Looped (automatic follow-ups) CC cc@loop.thenetworkos.com on any email thread you're waiting on. NetworkOS finds that message in your Gmail, starts a "loop", and emails you a confirmation showing the participants, the cadence, and the exact follow-up it will send. It then reads each incoming reply and classifies it (resolved, still deciding, a clear no, or unclear): "still deciding" pushes the next nudge out, a clear answer resolves the loop, a hard no closes it. If the thread goes quiet, NetworkOS sends your pre-approved follow-up from your own Gmail, in-thread, every few days (default 4) up to a limit (default 3), then marks it no-response. Account defaults (cadence, max follow-ups, default message, on/off) live under Settings; each loop freezes its copy at creation and can be edited or stopped on its own page. The Loops page lists active and recent loops with a full per-loop timeline. Privacy: NetworkOS only reads the threads you CC'd (to detect replies), follow-ups send from your own Gmail (not a NetworkOS address), and a loop can only start from a message already in your mailbox, so the From address can't be spoofed to create loops in your account. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/looped ## Advisory clients (public requests + client portal) Turn your public profile into a way to win advisory work. Toggle on "Accepting advisory requests" in your profile settings (a Pro feature) and a "Request advisory services" button appears on your published profile. A founder fills out a short form — company, needs, and contact — with no account required; you get an email and the request lands on your Companies page. No company is created until you accept, so declined or withdrawn requests never touch your companies list, billing, or network (the founder can also withdraw from their confirmation email). Accepting creates the company in your client list with the point of contact linked, exactly like a manual add. Each engagement runs through a simple pipeline — in discussion, active, paused, ended (ending archives the company; pausing doesn't) — and you can record fee terms (equity, cash, or mixed; amount + cadence) for your own bookkeeping. On accept, the point of contact is invited to a private client portal: they sign in with a one-time email link (no password, never a NetworkOS account) to track the engagement and, once you enable it per engagement, search your network and ask for introductions. Portal search is a limited card (name, company, title, headline, industry, location, LinkedIn, warmth + reason) — never emails, notes, or interaction history, and notes aren't used to write the match explanation. A client's intro request lands with you as a normal "requested" introduction that you send from your own inbox. You control portal access: invite more people, revoke anyone, and turn network search on/off. Privacy: verify a new client offline before accepting (anyone can type an email into a public form); the portal invite is self-verifying — only the mailbox owner can accept it — and terminal declined/withdrawn requests have their requester PII purged after 90 days. Auth: OAuth 2.0 + Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), PKCE S256; scopes read, write, offline_access. - Setup: Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the endpoint → authorize with your NetworkOS Google account. Read tools: search_contacts, query_contacts, search_companies, list_companies, find_intro_opportunities, propose_introductions, get_network_insights, get_contact_detail, list_contact_notes, list_tags, list_introductions, get_introduction. Write tools: create_contact, update_contact, archive_contact, add_contact_note, update_contact_note, delete_contact_note, create_tag, add_contact_tag, remove_contact_tag, recommend_introduction, dismiss_introduction, create_introduction_draft, regenerate_introduction_drafts, update_introduction_draft, send_introduction_email, mark_introduction_outcome, submit_feedback. Interactive App cards: ui://network-insights, ui://contact-picker, ui://intro-confirm, ui://contact-detail, ui://recommendation. The contact-picker card has two modes: search/query results render read-only ("for context", no action expected), while find_intro_opportunities and propose_introductions render a multi-select picker — pick one or more contacts and hit Next to start an introduction draft for each. CC/BCC on the final intro email: create_introduction_draft, update_introduction_draft, and send_introduction_email accept optional cc and bcc arrays (max 10 each, final intro email only — not opt-in or follow-up emails). The client contact is always CC'd automatically; user-supplied recipients are additive and deduplicated. The intro-confirm card exposes the same lists behind a collapsed "+ cc/bcc" toggle on the intro email tab. Example prompts: - "Use NetworkOS to give me a snapshot of my network." → network-insights card. - "Find people in my network who worked at Stripe." → contact-picker (read-only results). - "Who should I introduce to Acme? " → multi-select contact-picker; pick several, hit Next → one intro-confirm card per pick. - "Draft an intro between Alex and Jordan for a partnership." → intro-confirm. - "Show me Jordan's detail card, and add a note that we met at the summit." → contact-detail. ## NetworkOS in ChatGPT (same connector, Developer Mode) The same MCP endpoint (https://beta.thenetworkos.com/api/mcp) also works in ChatGPT. Because Anthropic's MCP Apps and OpenAI's Apps SDK share one foundation, the same tools and the same interactive cards (ui://network-insights, ui://contact-picker, ui://intro-confirm, ui://contact-detail, ui://swarm-review, ui://recommendation) render in both hosts from one server — no separate build. - Requires ChatGPT Developer Mode (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu; not the free plan). Standard read-only "search/fetch" connectors are a different, more limited path — NetworkOS uses the full Developer Mode connector. - Setup: ChatGPT → Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → enable Developer mode → Create connector → paste the endpoint → choose OAuth → authorize with your NetworkOS Google account. Enable it per chat from the "+" menu in the message box. - Auth and tool surface are identical to Claude (OAuth 2.0 + DCR + PKCE; same read/write tools). Read tools run on their own; sends and edits ask for confirmation. ## Your daily superconnector routine (Claude Cowork) A scheduled daily routine any user can set up so Claude generates introduction recommendations automatically. The loop: gather signals from recent conversations (Gmail + Calendar connectors; iMessage + WhatsApp via computer use in Claude Cowork) → update NetworkOS contacts and notes (create_contact / update_contact / add_contact_note) → find mutually-beneficial intros → record them with recommend_introduction (HIGH/VERY HIGH confidence only, idempotent per pair). Recommend-only: it never drafts or sends. Recommendations show up under "Recommended Intros" on the dashboard and as cards in Claude, where the user clicks Start introduction (drops into the intro wizard with the draft ready) or Dismiss. Best run in Claude Cowork (connectors + computer use + scheduling); also works as a Claude.ai scheduled task or Claude Code /loop (without iMessage/WhatsApp unless computer use is available). Includes a copy-paste prompt. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/superconnector-routine Troubleshooting: if Claude shows "MCP server requires authentication but no OAuth token is configured" (error_code mcp_unauthorized_no_token) or "Unable to reach The Network OS", the cached OAuth token expired and silent refresh didn't succeed. Fix: Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → NetworkOS → Disconnect → Add custom connector again with the endpoint above → reauthorize with the same Google account → refresh the chat tab. Reconnecting doesn't change any NetworkOS data; it only renews Claude's permission to call the connector. If the same error recurs within a session, email support@thenetworkos.com with the request_id from the error. Capabilities: a page-aware side-panel agent (read the current page and pull out people/companies, or run any assistant action); a "Save to NetworkOS" button on LinkedIn profiles; a one-click bulk sync of your 1st-degree LinkedIn connections (name, headline, company, photo, profile URL, connection date) with a progress bar; and a usage dashboard that keeps you within safe daily limits. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/chrome-extension ## Settings & billing Account and Google connect/disconnect; custom email signature (+ branding toggle); tag management; the Claude connector URL to copy; billing — free trial with days remaining, usage vs. plan limits, subscribe, manage/cancel via the billing portal (card details never stored by NetworkOS); delete contacts or your whole account. Guide: https://thenetworkos.com/help/settings-and-billing ## Privacy and data NetworkOS reads Google Contacts (names + emails), Calendar events (titles, attendees, times), and the reply threads of messages it sent on your behalf (introductions and recommendation requests). It never reads your inbox at large and never reads a thread it did not originate. Content read for reply tracking is discarded; email bodies are not stored. Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256); OAuth tokens stored encrypted. Export, correct, or delete your data and disconnect Google anytime; account deletion removes personal data within 30 days except where legally required. Requests: privacy@thenetworkos.com.
